I recently bought this XW20 (26x)eyepiece to use in conjunction with my XW14 (37x) eyepiece on the Pentax PF 80ED spotting scope which I use mainly for birding. Now I find I use this XW20 eyepiece most of the time. The brightness, panoramic field of view and resolution are all excellent. Zooming in close on a subject is fun, but at 26x the detail that can be seen is amazing. The wide field is great for scoping flocks of birds and also for getting on birds in flight. Because of its lower power, it is not as subject to the effects of vibration or atmospheric interference/heat shimmer, etc. Eye relief is very good at 20mm and works well while wearing eyeglasses. The eyecup also screws out for non eyeglass wearers. Granted there are some occasions when you'll want a bit more magnification, but in the real world this eyepiece will cover you most of the time.
